Breast In Show had one performance on October 13 2013 at Lowe's Annapolis Hotel, in Annapolis Maryland as part of the 20th Anniversary of Stepping Out for Breast Cancer, a local 501 (c)3 non-profit organization . This dramatic reading, the first of it's kind was performed by well known members of the Annapolis theatre community.

Wendy Baird (Wendy) has been singing on the musical theater stage, in the studio, and with big bands and orchestras for more than 20 years. She was last seen in her one woman cabaret, STUMBLING ON HAPPINESS II at Red Branch Theatre Company in August and Theater11's production of SOPRANO in May and Winters Lane Productions' fundraiser THEY'RE PLAYING HIS SONG -- a tribute to Marvin Hamlisch at Germano’s Cabaret in March. Last year she portrayed Diana in NEXT TO NORMAL at Red Branch Theatre. She also played Marmee March in Colonial Player’s (CP) production of LITTLE WOMEN, THE MUSICAL. Other recent stage roles include Rona in THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre; Eleanor in Kensington Arts Theatre’s (KAT) production of ONE RED FLOWER, and in Dignity Players of Annapolis’ (DP) Five Year Anniversary Gala. Other DP productions include VANISHING POINT (Aimee Semple McPherson), TRIUMPH OF LOVE (Corinne) and THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES. Other favorite roles include the actress in Colonial Players’ ENTER THE GUARDSMAN (which won Ruby Griffith Best Musical in 2007); Sara Jane Moore in Assassins (CP), Germaine in PICASSO AT THE LAPINE AGILE (CP), Mrs. Johnstone in BLOOD BROTHERS and others. Other favorite roles in the MD/DC area include: Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD, the Witch in INTO THE WOODS, Nola/P. Burke in WEIRD ROMANCE (SSS), Ilona in SHE LOVES ME (MP), SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD (KAT). Wendy has been featured with the Maryland Arts Festival (BROADWAY BOUND & COLE), Standing O’s music and lecture series, the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Shippensburg Festival Choir, Bobby Baird’s Dixieland Jazz Band, various cabarets and showcases, and on Billy B’s Energy and Me educational CD. Wendy is the proud mom of GMU senior Adam, and president of Insight180, a brand consulting and design firm in Ellicott City.
Kaelynn Miller (Chelsea) began her love affair with the music and theater in the earliest days of her childhood. A transplant from Sellersville, PA, she holds a B.A. in Vocal Performance from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD, and is currently employed in the music industry as a customer service representative. In her spare time, Kaelynn satisfies her theater habit by volunteering with The Colonial Players in downtown Annapolis serving as Treasurer on the Board of Directors, as well as using her on- and off-stage talents to work on multiple shows per season. In addition to acting, her credits include costume design and set painting, and you will usually find bandaids covered in paint on her needle-pricked fingers at least once a month. Kaelynn currently resides in Columbia, MD, but is looking forward to relocating to Annapolis in the coming weeks, where she will just be even closer to the two loves of her life: her boyfriend, Wes, and the Annapolis theater community.
Debbie Barber-Eaton (Shirley) holds a degree in Musical Theatre from the Catholic University of America. A director and a performer, she has worked in local and regional theatre and has a particular interest in the genre of cabaret, having created and performed numerous shows, including Rhapsody in Heels, Every (OTHER) Inch, a Lady and Bette & Barry at the Baths with frequent creative partner, Ron Giddings. Favorite roles include Queen Aggravain in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, “Rose” in GYPSY, “Pam” in BABY, “Adelaide” in GUYS & DOLLS, “Pistache” in CAN CAN, “Mrs. Lovett” in SWEENEY TODD and the delicious “Lady Macbeth,” for which she won a CP Acting Award. Debbie has directed productions for Colonial Players, Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, Chesapeake Music Hall, and Standing O Productions, and she taught at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts for 15 years. She had the honor of receiving the last Directing Award that Colonial Players gave for her direction of THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM in 2000. Duncan Hood (Pete) is looking forward to this production, having been involved with breast cancer survivor once before. Here's hoping that you can take some hope or at least comfort from this performance. Duncan recently appeared in the 2011 Clint Eastwood film “J Edgar” as the radio announcer. Over the past 20 years, he has performed roles as: Scrooge in Christmas Carol; Emcee in “Cabaret;” Flint in “Something’s Afoot;” The Man in “52 Pickup;” The Playwright in "Enter the Guardsman; VanSweiten in "Amadeaus;" Jethro Crouch in “Sly Fox;” Michael in “Dancing at Lughnasa;” The Narrator in “Blood Brothers;” Inspector Rough in “Angel Street;” Hysterium twice and Psuedolus once in 3 productions of “A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum;” Major General in two productions of “Pirates of Penzance;” Pap in “Big River;” Porter and Ross in “Macbeth;” and “Dr Kalmar in Studio Theater’s production of “A New Brain.” Voiceover credits include national and regional commercial, book & industrial projects. Video game credits include three characters in “Star Trek, Next Generation;” and 5 characters in “Fallout 3;” by Bethesda Softworks.
Duncan has been an international sailing instructor trainer for the American Sailing Assn. for 28 years and holds a USCG Master’s license.
Dianne Hood (Nurse Desiree, Doctor 3) has appeared on stages in Annapolis, Baltimore and the Eastern Shore over the last 37 years. She was most recently seen this past August in Colonial Players' 24 hour project While the Lights Were Out and last spring in the role of Lotty in Enchanted April in Oxford, Maryland.
Previous to that, she appeared in the one woman show The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion at the Strand Theatre in Baltimore, and played Francine in the premier of the one woman show Kitchen Sink at Church Hill Theatre.
Other favorite roles include Charlotte Hay in Moon over Buffalo, Lee Green in The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, Mrs. Lyons in Blood Brothers, Bella Manningham in Gaslight/Angel Street, Agnes in Dancing at Lughnasa, and Woman in 52 PickUp.
She has appeared with Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, Annapolis Theatre Project, Baltimore Playwright's Festival, Bay Theatre Company, Colonial Players, Dignity Players, Fells Point Corner Theatre, Maryland Hall Story Theatre, 2nd Star Productions, Standing O Productions, Studio 11, Theatre Eleven, Theatre Hopkins, Performance Workshop Theatre, Remember, Vagabonds Theatre, Valley Touring Theatre and Voices Touring Company.
Dianne is an active freelance actor and voice over artist. In addition to stage plays and narrations, she performs in role-plays training medical students and mental health professionals.
Ron Giddings (Freddy, Tim, Dr. Honeywell, Doctor 1) received his BA from Loyola College of MD in Theatre and Writing and his MA in Arts Administration from Goucher College. During the day, he teaches Creative Writing and Movement at the Bates Middle School Arts Magnet. As the founding Artistic Director of Standing O Productions, a former Artistic Director of Colonial Players and their current Education Director, he has directed Wonder of the World, Moonlight and Magnolias, Mr. Marmalade, two 24-Hour Projects, and was awarded the Ruby Griffith Award for Overall Production Excellence in 2007 for his production of Urinetown: The Musical at ASGT as well as the Ruby Griffith Award for Best Achievement of a Play in 2013 for Shipwrecked! at Colonial Players. He has acted in the area with Dundalk Community Theatre, Cockpit in Court, Dignity Players, Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, Moonlight Troupers, 2nd Star, Colonial Players, Phoenix Festival Theatre, the Maryland Arts Festival, and Standing O, as John in 2008’s production of john & jen, in The Musical of Musicals (Jitter), Tracers (Scooter), This is Our Youth (Dennis), and in the US Premiere of After the Dance (Peter). Bronwyn van Joolen (Cellina, Hannah, Marsha, Doctor 2) performs as a standardized patient for the University of Maryland and was Martha in A Christmas Carol (Ford's Theatre.) Her first role was as Molly in Annie (Wharf Theatre, Monterey, CA) and locally her role's have included Beth in Little Women, the musical and young Molly in Jake's Women (Colonial Players), Lucy in Narnia and Beth in Little Women (Merely Players), Red Riding Hood in Babes in Toyland (Washington Savoyards), and Mercy Lewis in the Crucible (Dignity Players). Bronwyn studies voice with Deborah Brown (The Voice Studio) and plans to pursue a BFA in Jazz Performance and Songwriting.
Beverly Hill van Joolen's (Director, Donna, Aunt Bonnie,Therapist,Tom) artistic career has taken her from California to Germany, and from club singer and writer, to actress, theatre & film critic, and director. Since moving to Annapolis Beverly has directed for The Colonial Players (Jake’s Women, The Philadelphia Story, Kiss Me, Kate & Little Women, the musical), Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre (Nunsense), and Merely Players (Narnia, Little Women, & Little Princess). When she’s not acting or directing, Beverly teaches and directs at Severn School, is the Vice President of The Colonial Players of Annapolis, and she dabbles as a playwright.
